Miami Dolphins Sign Star Punter Ryan Stonehouse

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins signed Punter Ryan Stonehouse Sunday morning. He was one of the best punters in the league in 2024 with the Tennessee Titans. He was third in the league in average yards per punt. Stonehouse also led the league in average yards per punt in 2022 and 2023. The best season of Stonehouse’s career came in 2022. He was named Second-Team All-Pro and led the NFL in total punt yardage. Will Stonehouse be able to continue playing well for the Miami Dolphins in 2025?

Miami Dolphins Offseason Outlook

Stonehouse joins a Miami special teams unit that was poor in 2024. They were 20th in total punt yards and 17th in average yards per punt. The Dolphins are coming off a disappointing season. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had an injury-riddled campaign that hurt the team. He was limited to 11 games due to various injuries.

Miami has made some solid offseason moves including Quarterback Zach Wilson, Running Back Alexander Mattison, and Wide Receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. They also re-signed Offensive Tackle Liam Eichenberg, Linebacker  Tyrel Dodson, and Safety Elijah Campbell.

Final Thoughts

Stonehouse will look to anchor a Miami Dolphins special teams unit that was poor in 2024. He will continue his great performance with the Tennessee Titans down to Miami. The Dolphins enter 2025 with playoff aspirations, and Stonehouse will seek to make that a reality.
