Manchester City #9 Strongly Cautions Arsenal and Liverpool After Recent Champions League Loss

Manchester City v Real Madrid CF: Quarter-final Second Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023/24 manchester city haaland

Manchester City is still in title contention – I don’t count them out yet. We see time and time again how Pep Guardiola’s side can come from being down at halftime to scoring four goals in the second half. We also see how they can be only one point behind league leaders, Arsenal FC, and have a strong end of the season to win the league.

Manchester City Striker Confident in Title Contention

After a message from the Manchester City Number 9 this past weekend, Liverpool and Arsenal have to keep a cool head to see if they can fend off Manchester’s squad in the last few matches of the season. And since City have a game in hand, they are looking like real title favorites going into the final few weeks of the 2023-2024 English Premier League season.

Erling Haaland, the Norwegian superstar striker, has issued a warning to Liverpool and Arsenal, each of whom sits one point higher than his side on the EPL table. Arsenal and Liverpool have played 33 games so far this season, earning 74 points and 1st and 2nd place respectively.

On the other hand, Manchester City has only played 32 games and sits at 73 points – meaning they are more likely to leapfrog both teams to the top spot.

Haaland isn’t one to shy away from pressure or the spotlight. He came into a challenging Pep Guardiola side last year and earned his keep, breaking records and scoring goals almost every single game. On a team with key players like De Bruyne and Grealish, he kept his cool head and didn’t let the pressure get to him.

And that’s exactly what he is saying to Liverpool and Arsenal. After a disappointing Champions League exit, he immediately took to Instagram to say that his team was not backing down from the EPL title race.

‘We still have other goals to achieve, starting this weekend, so let’s do this.’

Final Games in the 2023-2024 Premier League

The last few games in the Premier League are shaping up to be the best yet.

Just yesterday, we saw Liverpool edge out Fulham 3-1 for a much-needed win after a tough few games for the Merseyside squad. Liverpool has struggled to find the net in their Europa games and Crystal Palace loss. However, goals from Trent at right back, Gravenberch as a midfielder, and Jota as a winger show Liverpool’s versatility during key games.

They can look to continue their winning streak next week against Everton, who is currently sitting toward the bottom of the table.

Arsenal earned a 2-0 win against Wolves yesterday, with goals from Trossard right before halftime and Odegaard in extra time. Despite the low scoreline, Arsenal dominated the game, earning 24 shots, 9 shots on target, and completing 87% pass accuracy. Key players like Trossard, Saka, and Rice will be important for their next game against Chelsea – a huge match for both sides.

Finally, Manchester City had a week off due to their UCL appearance. This week they can set their sights on Brighton, a team that sits right in the middle of the table in tenth place. Manchester City hope to see Haaland, De Bruyne, and Foden continue to get on the score sheet and provide much-needed goals.

Haaland might have a ‘big ego’, but he is right – Manchester City are picking up steam at the right time in the season.
