Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher Gavin Stone did something last night no Dodgers starting pitcher had done in over two seasons. Stone tossed a complete game for the first time since April of 2022. The last Dodgers starting pitcher that went the distance was Walker Buehler on April 25, 2022, on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Stone tossed a complete game shutout last night against the Chicago White Sox in LA’s 4-0 victory. He struck out seven as Designated Hitter Shohei Ohtani, Left Fielder Teoscar Hernandez, and First Baseman Freddie Freeman drove in all four of the team’s runs last night. Stone has been stellar in 2024 as he is 9-2 with a 2.73 ERA. He is fourth in the league in wins while being 12th in ERA.
Will Gavin Stone be able to build upon what has been a great 2024 season up until this point?

Los Angeles Dodgers Season Summary
The Los Angeles Dodgers(51-31) have the fifth-best record in the league and trail only the Philadelphia Phillies for the National League’s best record. Los Angeles has been led by a high-powered offense this season. They are fourth in the league in batting average, third in home runs, and second in runs scored. They are also first in OBP and OPS while being second in Slugging Percentage.
Shohei Ohtani and Shortstop Mookie Betts lead the team’s offense. Ohtani is second in the league in batting average, third in home runs, fifth in RBI, and second in OPS. Betts is 11th in the league in batting average but will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks after breaking his wrist. Right Fielder Teoscar Hernandez is also 11th in the league in home runs and 10th in RBI.

When Will Stone Take The Mound Next?
The next scheduled start for Stone is on July 3 at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Stone took on Arizona on May 21 and had a mediocre day at the office. He surrendered four earned runs over six innings of work. He picked up his second loss of the year in that game.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have a day off today before they visit the division rival San Francisco Giants for a three-game series beginning on Friday. Los Angeles once again looks like one of the league’s best teams and have World Series expectations. Only time will tell if the Los Angeles Dodgers will be able to parlay their great regular season success into a deep run in the 2024 MLB Playoffs.
