The Irish Times detailed last week that Ireland’s players had dismissed a proposal from the board and that they risked playing in June’s T20 World Cup on contracts that at first lapsed toward the end of February. The details of those agreements turned over endlessly, meaning players were still being paid their retainers.

However, CI and the ICA declared in a joint statement on Thursday night that they have concurred on terms and that they are currently in the process of finalizing the inaugural Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two gatherings.

“Revised agreements will be given right away and will apply for the rest of February 2025,” the statement said.

Warren Deutrom, CI’s CEO, affirmed that players have gotten a salary increase. “From the commencement of player payments, the Cricket Ireland board has consistently focused on our senior people’s players to compensate them for their enormous part in driving forward the game in Ireland,” he said.

“The players have gotten the greatest portion of the new money in Irish cricket this year. That is as it ought to be. I accept we have made a valiant effort to compensate players for their diligent effort and success without failing to remember our duty to fund the remainder of the game, especially at grassroots, club, and commonplace levels, to guarantee we can deliver future internationals too.”

Deutrom said that relations between the CI and the ICA were solid in spite of the delay. These dealings have found an opportunity to settle due to the later-than-planned sign-off of our spending plan and the complexity of the new model for player contracts, he said.

It ensures greater transparency and clarity concerning the players’ share of revenue and on contracting structures for the next period.”
