Indiana Pacers vs. Pascal Siakam NBA 2k25 Summer League G League

The end of night one for the NBA 2k25 Summer League will see the Indiana Pacers vs. the Brooklyn Nets. It will be the first showing for both teams this summer.

The Pacers didn’t have any picks in the first round, but they did have three in the second. Fans will get to see rookies Johnny Furphy, Tristen Newton, and Enrique Freeman make their Summer League debut. There is also a long list of undrafted prospects that will hope to gain some traction from their performances through this summer.

Unlike the Pacers, the Nets didn’t have picks in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, they will have plenty in the coming years thanks to trades they have made. For this Summer League roster, fans can keep their eyes on undrafted players who make up a good portion of it. They can also focus on Nets players Dariq Whitehead, Noah Clowney, and Jalen Wilson, to name a few.

Which of these teams will start their summer off with a 1-0 record?

Summer League Team Review

Indiana Pacers

As mentioned, the Pacers have a few newly drafted rookies playing tonight. First up is Furphy, who finished his 2023-24 season with the Kansas Jayhawks. He ended his college career averaging 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assists. Next up is Newton. Newton’s 2023-24 season with UConn saw him averaging 15.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6,6 assists. Lastly, rookie Enrique Freeman was the lead scorer for the Akron Zips averaging 19.2 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.

The Pacers also have some players who have already played on their roster for a year or two. One of them is Quenton Jackson, who spent most of the 2023-24 season in the G League. In the nine games he played for the Indiana Mad Ants he averaged 22.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.

The Nets have created a decent roster, considering they had no draft picks. One player included in it is Zylan Cheatham. Cheatham spent some time in the league before making the move to Australia’s NBL. Here he is averaging 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 52% from the field for the New Zealand Breakers.  He would finish his season third in scoring for the team.

Another interesting addition is Khalid Moore, who is currently playing for Lavrio in Greece. Here he is averaging a solid 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. He is second in rebounds for the team and has been playing with them for a decent amount of time. Perhaps this pro ball experience will give him a leg up in the Summer League.

Possible Breakout Players of the Game

Indiana Pacers

Guard Dakota Mathias is a possible breakout player tonight. He has played in the G League for the Memphis Hustle, where he averaged 18.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He has also played in Germany for Ratiopharm Ulm, averaging 14.5 points per game. He should be looking to make a statement tonight to try and get more notice from the league.

Brooklyn Nets

Look for forward Jalen Wilson to push himself in this game. He’s already played for the main roster, where he averaged 5.0 points and 3,0 rebounds. Wilson should have a leg up on some of these other young players as he has spent time playing against great NBA players. We will see if he can break out to start is NBA 2k25 Summer League debut.
