Golden State Warriors Make NBA History In 128-92 Win

Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors had a night to remember on Tuesday at home against the lowly Charlotte Hornets. With their 128-92 victory, the Golden State Warriors became the fifth franchise in NBA history with 3,000 wins during the regular season. Golden State joined the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks as the only teams to reach that milestone.

The Warriors made history with ease as Point Guard Stephen Curry played only 24 minutes. Small Forward Jimmy Butler played a mere 19 minutes. That rest will bode well for the Golden State Warriors as they compete in a crowded Western Conference. Will the Warriors be able to continue making history this year?

The Warriors have looked like a completely different team since trading for Butler before the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline. Golden State is 6-1 with Butler on the floor this season. The team’s great form as of late has them flying up the Western Conference standings. They are the No. 8 seed but are only half a game out of the No. 6 seed. Golden State’s offense has been middling this season. They are 16th in points scored, 25th in field goal percentage, and 14th in three-point percentage.

Even though Golden State’s offense has improved drastically since Butler arrived in the Bay Area, that part of the team must improve for the team to reach its full potential. Golden State’s defense has been its calling card this year. They are ninth in points allowed, 10th in opposing field goal percentage, and 14th in opposing three-point percentage. If Golden State can continue to play better on offense and maintain their level on defense, no team will want to face them in the NBA Playoffs.

Final Thoughts

Golden State aims to win their 3,001st game tomorrow night when they visit the Orlando Magic. The Warriors looked listless before acquiring Butler, but he has seemingly reinvigorated the franchise. Curry has also looked more like his vintage self over the past few weeks. The duo of Curry and Butler, coupled with Golden State’s championship pedigree, has the team heading in a good direction for the final 24 games of the regular season.
