WWE NXT General Manager Ava Shockingly Departs the Company
WWE is heading into the Royal Rumble, but it appears they are losing one of their WWE NXT stars. It was announced that an authority figure and the daughter of a WWE Hall of Famer is leaving the company. Let’s take a closer look at what we know at this time.
WWE NXT General Manager Ava Departs WWE
In a recent post to her Instagram page, WWE NXT general manager Ava announced she is departing from the company.
“This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also new turning point in my life. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.”
WWE Statement On Situation
WWE would also issue a comment regarding the situation:
“WWE thanks and applauds Simone Garcia Johnson for her stellar work as Ava and beyond. Her passion, dedication, and impact were felt across the entire NXT and WWE community. We wish her the very best in all future endeavors.”
Ava is the daughter of The Rock (Dwayne Johnson), and has been the NXT general manager since January 2024. She became the first fourth-generation wrestler to sign with WWE back in February 2020, once she reported to the WWE Performance Center. This was a surprise, knowing Dwayne’s role in WWE currently. Hearing this news was a shocker to almost every WWE fan, both casual and non-casual.
What Is Next For WWE
It will be intriguing to see what she does next and what this also means for WWE NXT going forward, as she was the show’s authority figure. WWE needs to act fast on finding a replacement for Ava on the show. If WWE is smart, William Regal would make so much sense as he was phenomenal as the GM of the show when she left.
As for Ava, whatever she does next, we wish her nothing but the best. Hopefully, she does well in her next venture in whatever career she chooses to pursue.
