The Opps were able to retain their AEW World Trios Championships to open up the PPV against Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Gabe Kidd. While the match was solid as Samoa Joe won the match with the Muscle Buster on Wheeler Yuta, the main story is what happened after the match. After the match, the Death Riders would attack The Opps and put a steel chair around Joe’s head before Castagnoli would jump from the top rope on it.

The move would send AEW medical officials to the ring and place Joe on a stretcher. With The Opps being on ‘Hangman’ Adam Page’s side ahead of the AEW World Championship Texas Death Match against the leader of The Death Riders and current champion Jon Moxley, this gives the opportunity for The Death Riders to have an advantage going into the main event.
