R-Truth Released by WWE Ahead of 2025 Money In The Bank
One of the most beloved wrestlers in WWE has been released as it has been reported and confirmed that R-Truth has been released by WWE on Sunday afternoon. He has been one of the longest-tenured wrestlers in the company, spanning more than 15 years and performing in a variety of different roles throughout the years. However, R-Truth posted on X (previously Twitter) that he received the news that he had been released.
“Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.”
It has been reported by multiple outlets that this is legitimate and not a work. WWE has yet to confirm this news but has not confirmed many releases in recent memory. It also is not certain if this is part of a larger amount of releases or if he is the only one being let go at this time. Let’s take a closer look at his time in the WWE.
R-Truth Released by WWE
He has been with WWE since 2008 when he returned to the company following a handful of years at TNA Wrestling. Truth has been one of the longest-tenured wrestlers for the company and has been viewed as more of a comedy wrestler than a serious threat. Throughout his career, he won the United States Championship twice, the WWF Hardcore Title twice, the 24/7 Championship 54 times, the World Tag Team Championship twice, and won Season 2 of the Mixed Match Challenge. R-Truth’s final match with the company was during the May 28 episode of Smackdown where he was defeated by JC Mateo.
He has wrestled in six matches throughout 2025 and has a 1-5 record, but has been a consistent source of entertainment on WWE television as part of The Judgment Day and Ron Cena during Saturday Night’s Main Event. It will be interesting to see if he continues to be a performer or if this is the last time that we see him in the ring.
