Anna Jay Shuts Down WWE Rumors Ahead Of AEW Return and Title Shot

Anna Jay not looking to jump to WWE.

Amid speculation of a link between Anna Jay and WWE, she has hit back at the rumours as she prepares to return to action for the first time in months. The AEW performer is returning to the ring after a few months off and will immediately face a title challenge. Following her return, Jay has also set her sights on her current opponent, Willow Nightingale.

Speculation On WWE Connection Causes Online Chatter

The rumors started with a wrestling fan page on X (formerly Twitter) alleging that Anna Jay had ties to WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, and that WWE’s NXT division was interested in hiring her.

The fan page also claimed that Jay was upset about not appearing on AEW TV shows at the Blood and Guts event, referring to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. The allegations quickly went viral, leading to speculation about her future with AEW and the possibility that she may be leaving the company.

Jay addressed the issue on social media, strongly rejecting the claims. She said the statements were false and requested that the Twitter account cease spreading rumors. She also used the occasion to confirm her return to WWE and state that she will be appearing at AEW Collision on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She said that, I don’t know where this information is coming from, and you don’t know what you’re talking about. Please shut up. See you guys on collision Saturday 😍.”

Return After Months On the Sidelines

Jay has been absent from AEW programming since Nov. 19, 2025, when she and Tay Melo competed in a tag team match against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne, which ended in defeat. Her return now marks the end of a lengthy spell on the sidelines, during which speculation about her future continued to circulate. Her contracts report shows that potentially expiring later this year have also added to speculation about a possible AEW exit.

Immediate Championship Opportunity

Jay is preparing to face Willow Nightingale in a high-stakes match that carries major significance. Jay will challenge Willow Nightingale for the AEW TBS Championship in her return match, marking a key opportunity in her AEW career as she has yet to win a title in the promotion. If Anna wins this match, it will be a way for her to come back, and it will be her first big title win in the AEW. Anna wants to win the AEW TBS Championship.

The recent wave of rumors appears to have stemmed from ongoing uncertainty surrounding her contract situation and absence from television. However, Jay’s public response has made her position clear as she prepares to step back into competition. By speaking out against the rumors, she has redirected attention toward her wrestling career instead of outside speculation.

A Defining Moment Ahead

Jay is preparing for her return match, where a championship opportunity awaits, making this a crucial moment in her career.  For now, it’s not certain that Jay can get her title in AEW yet, but she is already in a championship match. This means she is still very important to the team.

Now everyone is waiting for Collision to watch the much-awaited performance of Anna. Fans are not talking about rumors anymore and are waiting to watch Jay’s performance in the ring to see how she performs.
