Clemson Tigers Struggle in the First Half for 2nd Straight Week vs Georgia Tech
The 12th-ranked Clemson Tigers have had another week where the team has struggled offensively, this time on the road against Georgia Tech in an ACC conference game. Clemson was the preseason favorite in the ACC, but they have been underwhelming to start the season thus far, and Saturday’s first half is no different for this Tigers offense led by Clade Klubnik. Let’s dive into the details of their struggles in the first half of this ACC Tilt.
The Offensive Struggles in First Halves Continue
The Tigers have only accumulated 158 total yards thus far on the offensive side of the ball, with a Klubnik fumble that proved to be crucial. However, the Tigers did have a clutch drive at the end of the half to get the deficit to 13-7 with them receiving the second half kickoff. But this cannot be a trend moving forward if the Tigers want to get where they want to be at the end of the season in the College Football Playoff.
Klubnik was the most responsible for their struggles, only going 9-for-14 thus far with 72 passing yards, as he was a fringe Heisman contender and a top QB prospect in the 2026 NFL draft heading into this season. And he has been underwhelming for the first two and and half games for this season.
Final Thoughts
The Tigers’ defense and Adam Randall’s big third-down run on that final drive at the end of the half are keeping the Tigers in this game as the second half has already kicked off as I am finishing this piece. But Klubnik just threw a horrible pick in the red zone live, so the Struggles are still around for the Senior. So it will remain to be seen how this game goes, obviously.
