Final Thoughts
Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is reportedly holding exit meetings with players after the end of the NCAA regular season. Regarding Owens’ role in Austin, Owens likely knew his time was over after the arrival of top-15 quarterback KJ Lacey and the signing of elite quarterback, consensus five-star, Dia Bell, of the 2025 Class.
The Longhorns will face the Michigan Wolverines in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC. New Year’s Eve hasn’t arrived yet, but the Texas vs. Michigan quarterback has already been turning heads. Arch Manning will face off against Bryce Underwood. Essentially, a first-time full-season starter struggling with consistency vs. a freshman posing a dual threat as a passer and rusher while proving to be an up-and-coming quarterback in the NCAA.
