This was a good win for James Madison. Any time a team can beat a conference rival on the road, it is a good win. The score in this game was 11-3, and for a change, JMU was comfortably ahead. JMU was losing 2-0 after three innings, but then scored six runs of their own in the top of the fourth inning, punctuated by a three-run home run.
They scored three runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the ninth inning. Those scoring outbursts surrounded Louisiana Monroe scoring one run in the eigth inning.

Louisiana-Monroe scored single runs in both the first and third innings. They jumped out to a 2-0 lead. It is fair to wonder what the team that had lost eight consecutive games was thinking. However, then the floodgates opened, and JMU scored six runs in the fourth inning. They did not trail in the game after that point, and went on to score three runs in the seventh inning, and two runs in the ninth inning, to win the game, pulling away.
