Michigan Wolverines DE Derrick Moore’s Future Gets an Update
Michigan Wolverines Defensive End Derrick Moore’s future got an update. Read on for further details, so you can stay informed.
Derrick Moore’s Future
Moore, 23, is one of the Michigan Wolverines’ best defenders. He suffered a letdown during Michigan’s 27-9 loss to Ohio State, beginning with promise but ending with a rough second-half performance.
Despite Michigan’s struggles, starting with the firing of their Head Coach Sherrone Moore “with cause,” the 23-year-old’s future got an update. His poor performance against Ohio State appeared not to dissuade the Senior Bowl, a pre-draft showcase for senior college players, as he reportedly accepted an invitation to play in the game.
Panini Senior Bowl wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “Officially accepted! … โDE Derrick Moore from @UMichFootball is headed to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl #TheDraftStartsInMobile #WherePlayersPlay”
Moore’s Outlook
Moore’s outlook appears to be bright amid the setbacks. He was Michigan’s leader in sacks with 10 in 2025. He is a 6-foot-3, 260-pound Baltimore, Maryland native who carved out a role for himself as a stellar pash rusher with the flexibility to drop back into coverage when necessary.
He was surprisingly absent from the stat sheet against Ohio State as he recorded zero sacks, tackles, etc. His partially poor performance against the Big Ten rival was concerning, but not too much. He is a game-changing player who has a bright future ahead of him.
Final Thoughts
The Wolverines’ fanbase likely breathed a sigh of relief when they heard positive news about Moore, as the recent news cycle has been more negative lately. Some of the Wolverines fans wished him well in the Senior Bowl, a nice and kind gesture.
The Wolverines have just one game left on their schedule: the Citrus Bowl against the Texas Longhorns on Dec. 31. He’ll prepare for the Senior Bowl and the 2026 NFL Draft after playing in Orlando, Florida. He has been projected to become a second or third-round pick after an impressive college football career.
