Chicago Cubs Starting Pitcher Continues Astounding 2024 Season

Chicago Cubs Javier Assad

The Chicago Cubs tore up the Kentucky Bluegrass last night, both from ball to bat and hand to glove. The Cubs were in desperate need of someone to lead the way in changing, sparking runs for them, and pitching the Braves out to keep them from being swept out of the series. Their answer came from Javier Assad.

Javier Assad, with his right arm, sent the ball blazing past the Braves at the plate for six shutout innings. The Chicago Cubs’ hitters seized the opportunity, making 13 hits, including home runs by Mike Tauchman and Seiya Suzuki. The Braves, despite their efforts, couldn’t match the Cubs‘ offensive and defensive prowess, falling short in the series finale with a score of 7-1.

The Braves were making things look very easy, keeping the Chicago Cubs from scoring for 18 straight innings. Mike Tauchman changed all that just from the first pitch of the game from Charlie Morton. Mike sent the ball over the Braves to the upper left corner and into the stands. The 93-mph pitch changed the series when Mike connected, sending the Cubs on the way to change.

Tacuchman enjoys tempting the pitchers to walk him, but he chanced a change that others moved on. Still, in the first inning, Suzuki answered with a double, and Cody Bellinger was swept up in the momentum and gave a single.

The Chicago Cubs wouldn’t let Charlie Morton rest with bases soon loaded and two out. Charlie pitched, hitting Pete Crow-Armstong in the knee, forcing a score for Chicago. In the third, Charlie overthrew to first, walking Mastrobuoni home; Madrigal sneaked to third, giving the Cubs a score of four.

The Chicago Cubs showed the Braves what it felt like to be scored on, but it also went hand in hand with Javier’s arm. Along with the batters, he left the Braves scoreless.

With the Cubs scoring in the fifth off a bunt, they were up 5-0. Assed pitched in one that was a ground ball hit but was snatched up by Bush. Bush burned it over to first base for the close-out.

Chicago and Atlanta both scored back-to-back, answering each other when they were at the top of the eight, and Suzuki sent another into the stands. Suzuki’s hit was the last score of the game, but another Cubs hero of the night still is Javier Assad.

Javier and the field left the Braves with only a single score. Their combined effort and teamwork brought seven across the plate. Now Javier and the Cubs will open game seven in Chicago’s Wrigley Field, hosting the Pirates. They will battle it out for hour games starting out on Thursday.
