Caitlin Clark earns the title of all-time leading scorer in National Collegiate Athletic Association history. The player has left everyone surprised by leaving the Iowa Hawkeyes. But before declaring to go pro, she provided a third consecutive Big Ten title.
Caitlin led the Iowa Hawkeyes to a 94-89 win over Nebraska. She scored 34 points in the game, all of them near the end. She made 5 of 17 three-pointers and led Iowa in points and assists for the season.
A legend is emerging
The 22-year-old is the new sensation in basketball for her outstanding performances despite not being a professional. Caitlin Clark broke Maravich’s 54-year-old record as the best scorer. Many brands, like Nike, Gatorade, or State Farm, have signed contracts with the player.
Likewise, her jersey has become the most-sold jersey in college sports. Additionally, Caitlin Clark recreated an image of herself holding the trophy. The Iowa star took a photo similar to Kobe Bryant‘s when he won the NBA in 2001.
I asked if @CaitlinClark22 would be down to recreate the iconic Kobe trophy photo and she came through ? pic.twitter.com/dHjtoM2Pmd

The player is making her mark in the NCAA. Caitlin has surpassed Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors with 163 three-pointers for the season. But what the fans are most anxious about is the arrival of the player to the WNBA. Caitlin Clark already has a market value that exceeds three million dollars. That is why the Indiana Fever are likely to choose her as number one in the draft and is already selling season tickets for the following season.
Caitlin Clark Doing Things Her Way
In her childhood, Caitlin tried out different basketball teams to find the right one for her. Her father decided to sign her up for a boys’ basketball team because there were no girls’ teams. This decision made the team a champion, but the other parents and teams protested.
Caitlin Clark knew she wanted to play basketball in college and decided to stay in Iowa. This city was less than 125 miles from her hometown. In college, she managed to become the most famous student. So much so that when she broke Maravich’s record, the tickets to the game cost from 400 to 5000 dollars. Then, in most of her games, it became common to be sold out, and she managed to fill the seats of 55,000 people. Therefore, it’s hard to see the attention and excitement surrounding Cailin Clark going away any time soon.
