The Philadelphia Eagles are continuing to make noise in the 2024 offseason, as they have agreed to terms with Bryce Huff on a 3-year, $51.1M deal. The 4-year pro went undrafted back in 2020 but has carved himself a role in his tenure with the New York Jets. This deal will make Huff the highest-paid non-QB undrafted free agent in NFL history.
Bryce Huff’s 2023 Production
Bryce Huff played in all 17 games for the New York Jets in 2023. He recorded 10 sacks and 29 total tackles (19 solo, 10 assisted), including 10 tackles for loss. The DE also accounted for 21 QB hits last season.
Huff was signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Memphis in 2020. He amassed 17.5 sacks over 54 games in four seasons with the Jets.
How Does This Move Impact Bryce Huff?
The New York Jets have been one of the best defensive units over the past couple of seasons, and Bryce Huff played a part in that success. However, the 25-year-old has never played in a playoff game in his 4-year career. With this move, Huff will now get a chance to play meaningful football and potentially compete for a Super Bowl.
Philadelphia Eagles 2024 Outlook
After a disappointing end to the 2023 season, the Philadelphia Eagles will look to bounce back in 2024. The NFC champs in 2022 have made a huge splash by signing Saquon Barkley and now they look to beef up their defense. Last season, Philly’s defense gave up 356.1 yards per game (7th worst in NFL) and 25.2 points per game (3rd worst in NFL). The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to add depth to their defensive line following the retirement of Fletcher Cox. Huff will now join a talented defense and play alongside Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Brandon Graham to name a few.
