Brandon Graham Retires After Amazing 15-Year Career

Brandon Graham

Philadelphia Eagles Defensive End Brandon Graham has officially announced today that he is retiring from the game of football after a lengthy 15-year career. He capped off his career with his second Lombardi Trophy after the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. He also ends his career as the longest-tenured Eagle after his 15 years. Let us take the journey through his career highlights and look at why he’s one of my favorite Eagles of all time

Brandon Graham’s Career Reflection

Graham will be a future Hall of Famer not only in Philly but also in Canton. With his two Super Bowls, 76.5 career sacks, and 5.5 playoff sacks, he has the most sacks in Eagles postseason history. Those postseason sacks include one of my favorite Eagles plays I have ever witnessed. He strip-sacked Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII to set the Eagles up to get the field goal to go up 41-33. Once Graham stripped Brady, I was in euphoria in my dorm lounge at JMU during a Super Bowl party. I screamed with all of the emotions thinking my favorite team was finally going to win the Super Bowl after that play.

From that moment, Graham became one of my favorite Eagles because of his passion and ability to play football at a high level consistently. I was also emotional earlier this year when we found out he injured his triceps and was going to miss the rest of the regular season. Fans knew there was a good chance that it was probably his last snap in the NFL. But he worked his behind off in rehab to get back on the field for Super Bowl LIX He played in his last Super Bowl and helped bring that trophy back to Philadelphia.

So from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you Brandon Graham for everything that you have done in Philly as you brought lots of emotions and great memories for Eagles fans including myself over these 15 years.
