The Boston Celtics will go into game 5 tomorrow against the Miami Heat without their star center, Kristaps Porzingis. Their star center went down with a calf injury early in the second quarter during game 4 where they won 102-88. Porzingis was hobbling around after rolling his opposite ankle early in the second quarter, and he left the game with a walking boot on.
Now, the Boston Celtics have several questions to ask themselves. When can Porzingis return? Who can help Boston make another push to the NBA finals? How will their upcoming matchups be?
What’s The Extent of the Boston Celtics Center’s Injury?

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Kristaps will sit out for several games with a soleus strain. Another great big man who’s missing the playoffs right now, Giannis Antetokounmpo, had suffered ironically while playing against the Boston Celtics before the postseason.
So what exactly is “several games” in this case? It is to be determined. Giannis had suffered his injury several games before his Bucks got into the playoffs.
Should The Boston Celtics Be Worried About This?

Of course, they should be worried about Porzingis. Any team should be worried anytime a starter goes down. However, they do have a reliable bench player and seasoned veteran Al Horford to help as a starting center as Kristaps is out. How much Horford could help out as a starter is a question that has to be answered on the court.
How Has The Celtics Bigs Played This Series?

Aside from Jayson Tatum, the Celtics centers and power forwards have played inconsistently. Porzingis didn’t have a good game 2 and 4. Al Horford has played his part on the offense, but only hit double digits in scoring in game 1 with 10 points.
Now that Horford is going to be the starting center for now, we’ll see how Xavier Tillman and Luke Kormet do with more minutes.
