The Baltimore Ravens’ defense was one of the best in the NFL last season. However, they have lost some pieces in the offseason. Defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald is now the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Patrick Queen and Jadeveon Clowney left in free agency. However, the Ravens did manage to keep one key piece from last season. Outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy has re-signed with the team.

The Pat McAfee Show was the first to announce the news, and Kyle Van Noy confirmed it with a retweet. The Baltimore Ravens are happy to have the veteran back. In his tenth NFL season, he had a career-high nine sacks and was a huge piece of their dominant defense. With key members leaving the team, he will need to step up even more in 2024.
It will be interesting to see whether Kyle Van Noy can duplicate his success. There will be a lot of changes in the scheme and personnel. Zach Orr takes over, and while he is engrained in the Ravens franchise, he will run things a little differently. This team will be under a lot of pressure to finally break through in the AFC.
Baltimore Ravens 2024 Outlook
It was a disappointing end to the season last year. Lamar Jackson was playing at an MVP level, and they had home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The team laid an egg against the Kansas City Chiefs. It isn’t the first time the Baltimore Ravens have fallen flat in the playoffs. Still, this team has plenty of talent. The offense should be dangerous, and I wouldn’t count out the defense despite the lost pieces.
The Baltimore Ravens will look different in 2024, but head coach John Harbaugh always seems to have this team prepared. The AFC North is tough, and they need players like Kyle Van Noy to have career years if they are going to knock off the conference’s elite.
