Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson continued his struggles in the NFL Playoffs in last night’s 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He is one of the best players in the league but is now 3-5 in the NFL Playoffs. While Jackson was not the largest reason the Baltimore Ravens lost, he was not at his best when the team needed him to be.
Jackson had two costly turnovers in the first half that contributed to a 21-10 halftime deficit the team could not overcome. He had an interception on Baltimore’s second drive of the game and a fumble early in the second quarter leading to a Buffalo Bills touchdown.
Jackson’s playoff issues are magnified because he is a two-time NFL MVP who may win this third MVP Award in a few weeks. He matched NFL legend Peyton Manning with a 3-5 playoff record multiple MVP Awards, and no Super Bowl appearance in his first seven seasons. Manning, while never the best postseason performer, went to four Super Bowls and ended his career with two championships. Will Jackson be able to get over the hump in the NFL Playoffs?

The Baltimore Ravens did not play their best last night against the Buffalo Bills. They had three turnovers while Buffalo had none. Tight End Mark Andrews had a game he would like to forget. He fumbled in the fourth quarter leading to a Bills field goal, and dropped a pass on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game. Baltimore was not able to overcome those grievous mistakes.
Even with countless errors from their key players, Baltimore should have won the game. They made history by coming up short. They did everything better than Buffalo, but the three turnovers and dropped passes made the difference. In playoff football, a few plays can determine the winner, and that was on full display last night in Buffalo.
Final Thoughts
Jackson understood the Baltimore Ravens let their game slip from their grasp. He said as much following the loss. It is another disappointing end for a Ravens team with Super Bowl aspirations. Jackson, while playing an average game, will be left to stew over another playoff game where he was not his best. That story has become all too familiar for the Baltimore Ravens and Jackson.
