Armando Broja’s Move to Ipswich Town From Chelsea Almost Collapsed

Armando broja

Armando Broja is not part of Enzo Maresca’s plans at Chelsea, and the club has been trying to find a buyer for the academy graduate. Everton has been keeping an eye on the situation and may move for Broja if they sell Beto or Neal Maupay.

Chelsea is looking to offload several players before next Friday’s deadline. Armando Broja has struggled to regain his top form since returning from a serious knee injury last September and made little impact during his loan spell at Fulham last season.

The Blues striker first broke through under former manager Frank Lampard, who emphasized building a squad around academy graduates. However, knee injuries over the past two seasons have severely hindered his chances of making an impact on Chelsea’s first team. Reports earlier this week indicated that Armando Broja was initially hesitant to join Ipswich but was eventually persuaded to make the move.

Armando Broja’s Uncertain Future as Ipswich Loan Could Collapse

Armando Broja’s loan move to Ipswich Town is at risk of falling through, which could mean the striker remains at Chelsea this month. Ipswich had reached an agreement with Chelsea for the Albania international to join them for the season, with a condition that Kieran McKenna‘s side would sign Armando Broja for 30m euros if they managed to stay in the Premier League after their first year back.

However, the deal has stalled, and there’s a significant chance it could collapse due to paperwork issues unrelated to Chelsea. While the move isn’t entirely off, Ipswich is reportedly exploring other attacking options for McKenna.

However, a recent report from the Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg indicates that the 22-year-old’s move to Portman Road Stadium is on the verge of falling through, as the Tractor Boys are having last-minute second thoughts. If the deal with Ipswich Town doesn’t go through, Armando Broja’s future will be left in a state of uncertainty.

Fabrizio Romano Reports Deal ‘Could Collapse’ & Now ‘Unlikely to Happen’

He wrote on X: “Armando Broja’s move to Ipswich Town from Chelsea could collapse due to issues that have arisen in the last 48 hours after formal steps were taken. At this stage, it’s unlikely to happen, and all parties are now exploring different solutions.”

The Blues will return to Premier League action against Wolves on Sunday, following a 2-0 defeat to champions Manchester City on the opening day. Maresca secured his first competitive win as Chelsea’s head coach at home against Servette in the Europa Conference League on Thursday. With the team currently having over 40 first-team players, Wolves boss Gary O’Neil remarked that predicting Maresca’s starting XI is ‘pretty much impossible.’
