Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves have never won an NBA Championship. Scratch that, the T-wolves have never even made it to the Finals. However, they are on a path to win it all for the first time. And while basketball is a team sport, the path the T-wolves are on has been paved by a critical piece that holds the team together.
Who is that critical piece? It is none other than Anthony Edwards. He is a star who has made a name for himself this postseason. Despite being a young player, he has established himself as the alpha wolf of the T-wolves pack. Now, the question remains: how far can he lead his team this postseason?
Anthony Edwards First Step To First Finals
The Minnesota Timberwolves will soon play game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Anthony Edwards has already taken many of the necessary steps to make it to the finals. The first step was beating the Phoenix Suns. In which Edwards and his pack went out on a rampage and devoured the Suns 4-0 in the first round.
Anthony Edwards helped his team win this series in many ways. He was an offensive machine, averaging a total of 31. o points, 8.0 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. However, Edwards does so much more than put up numbers. It is his personality, mentality, and passion for the game that gives his team a spark and drive like no other.
Anthony Edwards Second Step To First Finals
The second step Edwards had to take on his path to the finals was much harder than the first. It was against the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, and their reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic. However, Edwards and the T-wolves kept their momentum from the first series and came out with two big wins against the Nuggets.
That didn’t last long as the Nuggets fired back, winning the next three consecutive games. The T-wolves found themselves in new terrain. The road to the finals was getting steeper, each step more difficult, and the overall weather unbearable. However, wolves are made for the harshest of conditions. Edwards and the T-wolves dug deep and destroyed the Nuggets in a 45-point blowout win.
Then they met their hardest challenge: a fight to the death in game 7. The mentality was to keep going, one step at a time, or die. And what did they do? They came back from being down 20 points in the 3rd quarter to win it all. One critical piece in their comeback was Edwards. He scored in critical moments late in the game and sparked their drive with his contagious passion.

Anthony Edwards Last Step To First Finals
The T-wolves have one more step to take before making it to the finals: beating the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. While the T-wolves probably feel invincible after defeating the Nuggets, they will have to make important adjustments to defeat the Mavericks. Many of these adjustments will need to come from Anthony Edwards.
Edwards will have to find a way to regain his offensive momentum against a team that has had a lot of success defensively in the postseason. This is especially true after struggling in the last series against the Nuggets on offense. He will also have to work with his team to stop the two offensive superstars, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
If he does not step up on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, he will put his team in jeopardy of losing. Most importantly, if he does not show up as the alpha wolf of the pack, leading his team and intimidating the other team, then the Timberwolves are doomed as a franchise to never make it past the Western Conference finals.
