Alphonso Davies is one of the best defenders in the entire world. His speed, tenacity, long-range passing, and tactical awareness mean that he not only can stop the fastest wingers that he is up against, but he can provide pinpoint accurate crosses, perfect long through balls, and passes to wingers’ feet that create numerous scoring opportunities.
He is the full-package player. Gone are the days of outside backs sitting with the back line and just defending over and over again. Today, the modern full-back has to get involved in the attack, swing in crosses, and join in with their midfielders. Alphonso Davies is the prime example of how athleticism and awareness can create the most well-rounded full-back to ever exist in the game.
But, will the price tag be too much for Real Madrid to sign the talented left-back from the Bundesliga? Only time will tell.

Real Madrid wants Alphonso Davies to join their squad, but they might not be willing to spend the pre-set amount that Bayern Munich wants for their star left-back.
Chelsea and Manchester City are here to say that they are also interested in purchasing Davies from Bayern Munich if Real Madrid is not ready to commit and put down a hefty number. Both Premier League teams realize they need more depth in the back line if they want to stay at the top of the table (City) or get back up to one of the top three spots for next year (Chelsea).
Davies, however, has a clear preference that he prefers to move to La Liga and join Real Madrid instead of making a surprising move to the Premier League in England for the 2024-2025 campaign.
So far, Alphonso Davies has created six opportunities for teammates this season and even netted three of his own goals as a left-back for Bayern. His proficiency in front of goal and his tenacious attitude to get forward up the pitch makes him a huge asset for all European clubs.
However, his current contract fees and transfer info could make the switch a little more difficult for Davies than expected. He is going into the last year of his contract with Bayern Munich in the German League, which could prove to be difficult considering his high value and the team’s request for a substantial sum in terms of transfer fees, add-ons, and agent requirements.
Could Alphonso Davies Make a Switch to the Premier League?
Despite Real Madrid being clear favorites to sign the Canadian international from Bayern Munich, the Premier League teams are still hopeful they can keep a horse in this race. Chelsea and Manchester City both understand just how valuable and unique a player like Alphonso Davies is to have on their squad, so they are not backing out quite yet.
Both teams want to stay in communication with Alphonso Davies and Bayern Munich to see if they can negotiate a deal that would see Real Madrid walk away empty-handed. Davies will not only bring speed and pace to the wing, but he can provide much-needed assists during key games in the Premier League.
Chelsea and Manchester City are patiently waiting in the wings to be ready to pounce if the deal between Real Madrid and Alphonso Davies falls through at the last minute.
