In the NBA, Patrick Beverly is in line for the veteran minimum. He should find a team, as every franchise can use a veteran who plays defense at a high level. Last year, he averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists. While this isn’t a huge stat line, According to Spotrac, this would be a one-year deal for around $3.3 million. However, he has some potentially lucrative options overseas. On his podcast’s X account, he announced he was considering a “historic” contract in Europe. He didn’t reveal for what team or league.
It isn’t just in Europe. Greek journalist Thanos Tsibos reported there is a team in Israel that wants Beverly’s services. This wouldn’t be the first time he has played overseas. Way back in the early 2010s, he played abroad in Greece and Ukraine before making his way back to the NBA. He is reportedly “weighing his options.” Basketball has become a global sport, and Beverly would love to be a part of growing the game overseas.
Possible Landing Spots
Patrick Beverly would likely want to chase a ring. The Philadelphia 76ers have been on a spending spree, and adding the defensive guard to the rotation would be another great move. Milwaukee could look to retain him. Head coach Doc Rivers is known for loving veterans and has coached him before. The Bucks’ roster is aging and probably has one more run before needing to shift gears.
In the West, a team like the Phoenix Suns could be interesting. While they are dealing with second apron problems, they could try to do some backflips to bring in a veteran minimum guy. It will be interesting to see what direction Patrick Beverly goes. Will he chase the ring in the NBA, or will he chase the money overseas?
