Namibia has been participating in the T20 World Cup for the third time in a row, and they are optimistic about expanding on their previous successes. In 2021, they shocked many by reaching as far as the Super 12s, where they leapfrogged Ireland and the Netherlands. In fact, in 2022, they were able to embarrass Sri Lanka in the first round, but they did not advance any further.

Namibia emerged as the unbeaten team in the Africa qualifier for the T20 World Cup 2024, where they triumphed in all six of their games. Namibia realized that the only way they could qualify for the Super 8s was by relying on a win over Oman and Scotland and hoping for an upset of sorts against either England or Australia.
