Green Bay may be interested in taking another wide receiver on day two if he is available. The 6’3″ and 221-pound receiver would complement their other weapons on offense for the Packers. They recently hosted him for a top-30 pre-draft visit, among numerous other teams, as a possible late-round one or early-day two picks.
After his Senior Bowl and Scouting Combine performance, it is no wonder why teams, including the Packers, are interested in the height, weight, and speed threat among a talented group of receivers in this year’s draft class.
Due to numerous circumstances, South Carolina’s Xavier Legette had a breakout year in his final season and had over 1,200 yards, 71 catches, and 7 touchdowns as a Gamecock. Scouting his games this past year, I would have him closer to the top five receivers rather than bottom as a top ten receiver in this draft.
While he has his flaws, Legette has untapped potential that a great offensive mind for Green Bay like Matt LaFleur and Adam Stenavich could use.

According to an interview he did with Justin Melo of The Draft Network, Xavier Legette visited Green Bay among the other teams in his pre-draft visits. The Packers host the South Carolina senior, as he could be a target for them on day two of the 2024 NFL Draft.
The 23-year-old also visited many AFC teams like Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos.
For the NFC, Legette was courted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and Detroit Lions for a top-30 visit. The Packers might have to trade up if they want to secure another weapon for ascending star quarterback Jordan Love.
Many teams are interested in a top pass catcher, so much so that an early-round two team might snag him at the top of round two or even late-round one.
Green Bay: Xavier Legette Possible Day Two Pick?

With the 25th pick in round two, Green Bay will have to jump the competition to attain a big-bodied threat from South Carolina. They could use one or two of their two second or third-rounders in a package deal to move up if he’s available early on day two of the draft.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Packers straight-up take him at pick 25 in the first round if they love him as a prospect and don’t want other teams to have their shot to take him. However, with other needs like an offensive line or secondary, a receiver isn’t the biggest need on the roster.
The only problem is if they pass on him in the first round, the Panthers, who own pick 33, are a team very interested in bringing him back to his hometown at the top of round two.
According to an interview Legette did with John Crumpler of USA Today, Carolina told him that they would be the team that takes him if he’s there after round one.
“I’ve met with the Panthers four or five times, the relationship is just continuing to grow,” Legette told USA Today. “They’re hoping I can make it to the second round. They keep telling me if I’m sitting at 33, they’re going to take me.”

South Carolina WR Xavier Legette was not shy about disclosing his relationship with the receiver-needy, local Carolina Panthers.

Green Bay: What Would Legette Bring to Packers?
https://gty.im/1822912102
Green Bay already has one of the youngest receiver groups in the NFL, and they have invested in receivers early in the draft.
Christian Watson (round two) and Romeo Doubs (round four) were the Packers’ day two to three picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Jayden Reed (round two) and Dontayvion Wicks (round five) were their recent draft picks last season, and both had good rookie years.
But if the Packers want to strike and enhance their offense around Love now, taking another weapon for their offense wouldn’t hurt. This would be in addition to replacing Aaron Jones with Josh Jacobs in free agency at running back.
Green Bay drafting Legette or even moving up for him would essentially round out their offensive needs other than the offensive line.
