This is what Alonso had to say after their win,
“I am happy and proud of the team. We showed a serious performance and controlled the game. We didn’t want any surprises tonight. We can celebrate that we are heading back to Berlin after 4 years. It’s special to go to Berlin. We know the Pokal is important and we are expecting great support from out fans. We now have other targets. The last game of the season being a Final shows we have had a good season. I wish @f95 all the best for the rest of the season and hopefully we will see each other in the BayArena next season.”

What’s Next for Bayer Leverkusen?
Leverkusen are scheduled to play Kaiserslautern, who are in third-division Saarbrucken 2-0 on Tuesday, in the final on May 25.
The team seems to be unstoppable and the fact that Xabi Alonso has decided to stay with the club despite much interest from top English clubs makes it all the more interesting. He said, “It is very important for the last game of the season to be a final, we now have a super chance and we are happy. It has been a long road. We started back in July with new players. But they have done it well. We show it on the pitch and that is important.”
