Former AEW Star Announces Final Match on 3/14
A former AEW star is officially saying goodbye to professional wrestling. In a time where over the last few months, we have seen the likes of John Cena, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and others announce their retirement from wrestling, it appears that another will be officially hanging up the boots. While many thought we had already seen the final match of this wrestler’s career, they are entering the ring for one final match. Let’s take a closer look at who the former AEW star is and when his retirement match will take place.
Former AEW Star Marko Stunt Announces Retirement Match
Marko Stunt is ready to say goodbye to professional wrestling. Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) announced on social media that the former AEW star is returning to the company for his final match. Taking place at The Showboat in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on March 14th, he will be wrestling for one more match. As of the announcement of this match, there has not been an opponent selected.
Stunt announced his retirement from professional wrestling back in 2024, but was part of the inception of All Elite Wrestling, being part of Jurassic Express with Luchasauras and Jungle Boy Jack Perry. He left the company in 2021, but has wrestled in multiple promotions since leaving. His most recent match actually was a surprise return on AEW Collision against Perry for the TNT Championship on July 6, 2024.
Stunt has been out of the wrestling scene for a few years, following that match, announcing his retirement from the ring back in 2024. He has been working as a Ford car salesman in Olive Branch, Mississippi, since but is having one final send-off to his in-ring career with this match. He would not be able to completely remove himself from wrestling for long, though, as he currently works for Memphis Wrestling as an on-screen talent and mentor.
It will be intriguing to see what details emerge about the former AEW star’s final match and who he will be in the ring with. The show will be airing live on TrillerTV+ as well for people who will not be able to be there live. GCW will also be hosting another retirement match of an ECW legend during Wrestlemania weekend this year, which you can read about here.
