Powerhouse Hobbs’ WWE Name Revealed
Powerhouse Hobbs is one of the premier wrestlers, and now will be wrestling with WWE for the foreseeable future. Not only that, but he will also be undergoing a name change. While this has happened for other wrestlers when debuting with the company before, this is something that many people were not expecting for Hobbs.
Let’s take a closer look at what this means for Hobbs and what his new name will be.
Powerhouse Hobbs’ New WWE Name Revealed

Powerhouse Hobbs has been in the news for the last week as it was reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that his contract with All Elite Wrestling expired. He would drop the AEW Trios Championships before the contract’s expiration and has now signed with WWE. Despite being a former champion with the competiton, he is not keeping the Powerhouse Hobbs name.
BodySlam’s Corey Hayes has reported that his name when he debuts with the company will be Royce Keys. In a subsequent tweet, he would mention the name has sentimental value behind it, but did not say exactly what that would be. Royce is the first name of his son, so that would make sense to why he chose that name.
This is not something that is new, as wrestlers like Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe saw their names be changed when leaving AEW to join WWE. This happens as WWE could license the name of the wrestler without any issues. It will be intriguing to see if this name will be able to grow on fans or if this will be a red flag for some fans.
There is still no information regarding to his WWE debut or if he will be on WWE NXT or straight to the main roster.
