Michin Out of Action Due To Shoulder Injury Suffered During WWE Holiday Tour
WWE Superstar Michin 2026 isn’t starting with a bang, but rather a doctorโs note. She has been pulled from the road following a shoulder injury sustained during the WWE Live Holiday Tour. If youโve ever wondered why wrestlers have a love-hate relationship with the “Holiday Tour,” this is Exhibit A.
A Tour Cut Short
The news broke mid-week when Michin posted a somewhat vague, yet telling, update to her Instagram. She shared a few snaps from the road with the caption, โHave to cut my tour a little short but damn, was it fun! I got to take a bite out of cake too.โ She added a “BRB,”
While she kept it lightโbecause kayfabe or not, you never let them see you sweatโFightful Select confirmed the grim reality shortly after. The report noted she sustained a shoulder injury earlier in the week. The specific severity hasn’t been disclosed, but the immediate result is the same: sheโs on the shelf. She’s not the only one, as Sheamus just underwent shoulder surgery as well.
The Match That Never Was
Here is where the sarcasm regarding “timing” really kicks in. She had been actively feuding with the WWE Womenโs Champion, Jade Cargill. The two had been working house shows togetherโspecifically a match on December 27 in Pittsburghโand the chemistry was building.
The real kicker? They were scheduled for a high-stakes televised match on the very first SmackDown of 2026. This Friday was supposed to be a non-title match where, if Michin won, she would have earned a future shot at the gold.
Itโs the classic wrestling trope: the underdog fights for the opportunity, scratches and claws to get the match, and then… doesn’t make it to the ring. Only this time, itโs legitimate. WWE has had to scramble to find a replacement for the rest of the tour, and the creative team is likely rewriting Fridayโs script as we speak. So the timing was the worst for her.
A Career of Resilience For Michin
If there is a silver lining here, itโs that Michin has been through the wringer before and always comes back. Since her standout performance in the inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017, she has been a reliable hand. She grinded through the NXT system from 2018 to 2020, survived the chaotic transition to the main roster, and managed to find her footing alongside AJ Styles and The O.C. On a side note can WWE please rename her as Mia Yim as this Michin name sucks.
She has proven she can work with anyone, from Chelsea Green to the powerhouse that is Cargill. Itโs that versatility that makes an injury like this so frustrating for fans. Just when she was transitioning from “reliable team player” to “legitimate title contender,” the momentum screeched to a halt.
What This Means for SmackDown
With Michin out of the picture for the immediate future, the SmackDown women’s division has a hole to fill. The feud with Cargill was providing a nice, physical diversion while the rest of the title picture sorted itself out.
We don’t know yet if WWE will write the injury into the storylineโperhaps claiming Cargill took her out backstage to add some heat to the championโor if they will simply pivot to a new challenger and pretend the last few weeks didn’t happen. Given the nature of the business, probably the latter.
For now, all we can do is wish Michin a speedy recovery. Hopefully, that “BRB” on Instagram is literal, and we see her back in the ring before WrestleMania season truly heats up. Until then, sheโll have to watch from the sidelines as 2026 kicks off without her.
