Los Angeles Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford In Rarefied Air With Another Season Of 40+ Touchdown Passes
Los Angeles Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford is proving age is nothing but a number with the way he has played during the 2025 season. He finds himself in illustrious company with his third career season of 40+ touchdown passes. He previously accomplished the feat in 2011 and 2021.
Stafford is one of only three quarterbacks in NFL history to have at least three seasons of 40+ touchdown passes. The other two quarterbacks are Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Brady did so three times, as did Rodgers. Can the Rams quarterback keep rewriting the history books this season?
Matthew Stafford Season Summary
Stafford is undoubtedly playing at an MVP level in 2025. He is a slight favorite to take home the NFL MVP over New England Patriots Quarterback Drake Maye. Stafford has been the driving force behind a potent Rams offense. Los Angeles leads the league in yards per game, is second in passing yards per game, and leads in points per game.
Stafford has also been great individually. He is leading the league in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and passer rating. He is also in the top five in QBR. All of these statistics have led to the Rams having an 11-4 record and the No. 6 seed in the NFC Playoffs. The team’s low seeding is a result of a loaded NFC West.
Final Thoughts
The Rams have two more games left in the regular season. They visit the Atlanta Falcons and host the Arizona Cardinals to close out the year. If the star quarterback can keep playing at such a high level, no team will be happy to see the Rams in the postseason.
