How To Watch Saturday Night Main Event (John Cena’s Final Match)
Well, it’s finally here, a very special episode of Saturday Night Main Event. This one will be tough to get through, not only because it’s the last WWE show for 2025. It is also the last match in John Cena’s career in pro wrestling. What matches will be on the card, how do you watch, and when is it?
What Matches Have Been Confirmed For WWE Saturday Night Main Event?
Many of these shows are in the 4-5 match range in the Triple H era of booking. Well, that’s not changing for this match as four matches have been confirmed. They are listed below.
- Cody Rhodes vs Oba Femi (Champion vs Champion Match)
- Bayley vs Sol Ruca
- AJ Styles and Dragon Lee vs Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater
- John Cena vs Gunther (Cena’s Final Match With WWE)
The Match Most Fans Are Looking Forward To
Well, this one is a no-brainer as it is the final wrestling match of Cena’s career. His final year in WWE has been very mixed. More bad than good in my opinion, especially with the terrible run he had as a heel and that waste of time match with Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza. You know how to make his final year better, if WWE allowed him to do 220 dates.
However, if there was one perfect opponent for Cena to end his career against, it would be Gunther. Heck, Gunther even carried Goldberg into a 15-minute match. Goldberg sucks in long matches, and Gunther did a great job with him in that match.
It is going to be interesting to see how WWE books this and how long the match will go. Will Cena end his match with a W, or will Gunther continue to build himself as the legend killer? Well, one thing is for sure: this will be the main event.
There are also some really solid matches on the card. The Sol Ruca vs Bayley match should be fun. Ruca is one of their best prospects and wrestlers in the NXT system. Her Sol Snatcher finisher is one of my favorites in the business today. She should have an amazing match with Bayley, who always has a good match, whether she has a nonsensical character or not.
When and How To Watch Saturday Night Main Event
This show is taking place on December 13, 2025, which is today. The show will start at 8:00 p.m. Regarding how to watch this show, keep in mind it will not be available on TV or via ESPN. To watch this show, you have to do it via Peacock, which isn’t a surprise.
Final Thoughts – Thank You, Cena
It is going to be weird seeing Cena in the ring for the final time. I know that it is hard to even see Cena whenever he is in public or private. I know many say never say never for a return, but coming from Cena’s mouth, I think he means it. There is much to look forward to in this show, and while Cena will never read this, I want to thank him for everything.
Cena was a part of my childhood, and his WWE in-ring career ending just feels weird. I wish him well tonight, and hopefully, he has a heck of a match against Gunther. WWE better do right by him tonight because the last year has been a disappointment with how they handled Cena.
