57 Days Until The Winter Olympics: US Men’s Luge Led By Tucker West
The countdown to the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics has begun, and for the athletes of USA Men’s Luge, the quest for a coveted spot on the team is reaching a fever pitch.
With a limited number of spots available, the internal competition within the U.S. squad is as fierce as the international rivalries. The American men are looking to disrupt the historic dominance of European powerhouses like Germany and Austria.
Men’s Singles Luge

The men’s singles competition is a showcase of pure speed and precision, where athletes navigate the treacherous ice at speeds approaching 90 mph. The U.S. has fielded a strong team, headlined by three-time Olympian Tucker West and 2022 Olympian Jonny Gustafson.
West, entering his 12th season, brings a wealth of experience, having secured two top-ten finishes last year. Gustafson, who was the top American at the Cortina test event with a 14th place finish, continues to be a consistent performer on the world stage.
Joining them are Matt Greiner, a two-time Junior World Championship medalist, and Hunter Harris, who are both looking to make their mark. The internal race-offs for the final spots on the World Cup team were intense, highlighting the depth of talent in the U.S. program.
With only three sleds per nation eligible for the Olympics, every run in the qualifying races is a battle for points and a step closer to making the final team that will be announced around January 12, 2026.
Men’s Doubles Luge
In men’s doubles, teamwork and synchronization are everything in luge. The American contingent is led by the 2022 Olympic duo of Zack DiGregorio and Sean Hollander, who are coming off a top-ten overall finish last season.
They are joined by the exciting young pair of Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa, who impressively placed seventh overall in the World Cup rankings last year despite missing several events while graduating from the Junior National Team.
Rounding out the formidable U.S. doubles lineup is the team of Dana Kellogg and Frank Ike. After their 2024-25 season was cut short by injury, the 2024 World Championship team relay silver medalists are back and hungry for redemption.
Their return adds another layer of intense competition as all three teams push each other to the limit, aiming to secure one of the two coveted men’s doubles spots for the US at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
