Kyle Tucker Visited The Blue Jays Facilities Down In Florida
Star outfielder Kyle Tucker was spotted visiting the Toronto Blue Jays’ facility in Florida on Wednesday. The Blue Jays have hit the ground running early this offseason, signing Dylan Cease to a huge contract, and are turning their attention to the lineup. Will they continue to splurge and sign the left-handed slugger this offseason?
Toronto Is Pursuing Kyle Tucker
The Blue Jays don’t appear to be stopping their spending spree. They are among the teams aggressively pursuing Kyle Tucker. He and Vladimir Guerrero would become one of the best duos in all of baseball, putting them at the top of the American League. Tucker is an elite hitter who’s a tough out, no matter where he bats. He consistently gets on base at a high rate. Toronto will have to pay the high price that Tucker is seeking this Winter. The team is still interested in retaining Bo Bichette.
If they’re able to retain Bichette and sign Tucker, no one is going to come close to beating the Blue Jays next season. The biggest strength for their lineup last season was the ability to work tough at-bats and force starting pitchers out early. That is something Kyle Tucker does at an extremely high level. His walk rate ranked in the 96th percentile at 14.6%. His strikeout percentage ranked in the 85th percentile at 14.7%.
He would take Toronto’s offense to another level. Tucker could put them over the top after falling just short to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series last year.
Will They Go After Bichette Too?
It sounds like the Blue Jays aren’t afraid to spend big and go after both stars this Winter. They went out devastatingly in 2025 and are looking to do everything in their power to get back to the fall classic next season. Bichette is likely going to command an eight-year deal worth around $200 million, which really isn’t that bad considering how much he brings to the table offensively.
Last season, he slashed .311/.357/.840, once again ranking among the top hitters in the American League. Reality is, there are no concerns about what he can do at the plate; it’s just his below-average defense at shortstop that hurts his value tremendously. Toronto will face a lot of competition for his services, including a familiar foe in the Boston Red Sox.
Boston has shown interest in Bo Bichette, who would fit perfectly at the top of their lineup alongside Roman Anthony, and would likely slot in at second base with Trevor Story as the everyday shortstop. It’ll be interesting to see how Bichette’s market plays out and if a bidding war breaks out, rapidly driving his price up.
