According to a new study by Canada Sports Betting, the Dallas Cowboys are no longer the most hated team in America. Read on for the full report.
Cowboys No Longer Most Hated Team In America
Canada Sports Betting analyzed four years of Google search behavior to figure out which NFL team each state loves most, and used rivalry matchups to reveal which team each stateย probablyย hates the most.
The Dallas Cowboys, who are often perceived as widely hated, didn’t come in No. 1. At No. 5, Dallas is only Delaware, New Jersey, and Virginia’s most disliked team.
In terms of regional patterns, the Las Vegas Raiders dominate the Mountain and Plains hate-map, the New York Jets anchor the Northeast, the Green Bay Packers get heat from NFC North rivals, and the Philadelphia Eagles rack up resentment across the South and West.
Cowboys’ Outlook
Dallas’ outlook appears to be bright. Dallas kept its long-shot playoff chances alive with a 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Both Dallas and Philadelphia missed field goals, but the Cowboys came out on top as Brandon Aubrey regrouped for a game-winning field goal.
Dallas hosts the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day at 3:30 p.m. Central. Kansas City isn’t much better with a 6-5 record, so Dallas can win if its defense continues to show resilience. Kansas City’s currently on the outside looking in, too, and may not continue its dynasty.
Final Thoughts
13 states hate theย Philadelphia Eagles. That is more than any other NFL team. The Las Vegas Raiders trail the Eagles, hated in eight states โ mainly across the Mountain West and Midwest.
The Green Bay Packers are loathed in six states, especially by neighboring fan bases, such as the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings. The New York Jets ranked fourth, hated in six states, including much of New England. The Dallas Cowboys, who are often dubbed as “America’s Team,” appeared as the most hated in three states: Delaware, New Jersey, and Virginia.
