Tony Khan Wants Chris Jericho to Retire in AEW
Chris Jericho has been one of the biggest pieces in the history of AEW, from being the first AEW Champion to being a vital part of their television contract with Warner Bros. It has been more than seven months since the future Hall of Famer has been on television, and with rumors of his contract expiring, questions about his future have popped up.
Let’s take a closer look at what AEW owner Tony Khan has said about his hopes for Chris Jericho’s future.
Tony Khan Hopes Chris Jericho Retires with AEW

Chris Jericho has been a staple in All Elite Wrestling as the 55-year-old has been part of the company since its inception in 2019. In a video posted from Adam’s Apple, Tony Khan said he would love for Chris Jericho to retire with All Elite Wrestling whenever he is ready to wrap up his career.
“I would say that absolutely, I’d love it if Chris, his final match is eventually – whenever Chris someday would want to hang it up – were in AEW, but I also don’t think Chris is really near that point.”
Jericho has not been in the ring since the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event in April, losing the Ring of Honor World Championship to Bandido. There have been rumors that have surfaced about WWE having interest in bringing back the legendary wrestler, but Khan has stated that he is still under contract with the company at this time.
AEW has had legendary wrestlers in the past and current have runs in the company that are viewed as elegant, such as Sting and Bryan Danielson to name a few. It will be interesting to see what the first AEW Champion does going forward.
