Tony Khan Discusses Potential of Adam Copeland Being Part of John Cena Retirement Tour
Tony Khan is one of the biggest fans of the history of wrestling and has a platform in All Elite Wrestling to create a place where some dream matches can happen. In WWE, they are seeing the end of the retirement tour of John Cena, as he has faced some of his biggest rivals throughout his career.
However, one name that has been discussed by fans is one final match between Cena and AEW’s Adam Copeland aka Edge. Let’s take a deeper dive into what Tony Khan said regarding that situation.
Tony Khan Discusses WWE Never Contacting Him About Using Adam Copeland

While appearing on ‘The Ariel Helwani Show‘, AEW owner Tony Khan discussed how WWE never contacted him in regards to having Adam Copeland appear for John Cena’s retirement tour.
“Never say never in wrestling, because I would imagine they could always extend [John Cena’s] date past the end of the year. But no- Adama’s going to be here with [AEW] through the end of the year. Adam Copeland is a huge part of AEW, and I have so much respect for him. I really, really like Adam a lot, and I’m glad to have him here. Even though he’s away filming, he’s still with us and will continue to be.”
This does not mean that if WWE had asked that it would have happened, but instead just means they never had the subject come up. We have seen the two sides work together before on smaller things like having Billy Gunn appear at the WWE Hall of Fame, but nothing to that extent.
John Cena and Adam Copeland have had some incredible matches against one another throughout their careers, and Copeland did a five-knuckle shuffle at AEW All Out as a nod to Cena after Cena hit a spear at Summerslam. It will be intriguing to see if there is something that happens in the future, but with just two appearances remaining and no Edge in “The Last Time is Now Tournament”, we will not see another match between the two legends.
