UConn Destroys Ohio State 100-68
UConn is very good at women’s basketball. They may be much better than everyone else. They beat the previously unbeaten Ohio State women, 100-68. This was a demolition, and the Lady Buckeyes were outclassed. One player deserves mention.
UConn Forward Sarah Strong showed the nation why she is likely the best player in women’s college basketball this year with another double-double on Sunday at Peoples Bank Arena against the Lady Buckeyes. Strong had 29 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 3 blocks. She filled up the stat sheet.
UConn Beats Ohio State 100-68 In Women’s Basketball
UCONN defeated the Lady Buckeyes in college basketball in Storrs, Connecticut, 100-68. UConn, the number one team in the nation, improved to 3-0 on the young season. The Lady Buckeyes were previously undefeated, but they ran into a buzzsaw. It is possible that in women’s college basketball, the Huskies are much better than everyone else, resulting in a highly skewed distribution of talent in women’s college basketball.
UConn was led by Strong, who might be the best player in the sport. Get used to that name, she could become a famous basketball player. Azzi Fudd contributed 19 points and 7 assists in the massacre.
Jaloni Cambridge had 17 points and 6 rebounds for Ohio State (2-1), which trailed by only one point late in the first half but was outscored 52-27 in the second and third quarters. Strong had 21 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals during that stretch. She proved to be just too much for the Lady Buckeyes.

In the third quarter, Strong had 14 points for the Huskies to stretch the lead. Blanca Quiñonez has 18 points, and Serah Williams and Fudd had 12 points apiece for the Huskies. The Huskies shot 53% from the field, including 10-for-19 on 3-pointers. To that point in the game, Ohio State had committed 22 turnovers, which led to 32 Conn points.
By the time the game was over, UConn’s defense had also dominated, with 14 total steals. The Buckeyes committed 24 turnovers, leading to 37 points. Cambridge led Ohio State with 17 points, but that was far from enough.
Conclusion
The Lady Buckeyes need to shake off this horrible loss in Storrs. They need to realize that a 1-point loss counts the same as a 32-point loss. They also need to realize that UConn may be the best team in the nation, by a wide margin. Ohio State next plays on Tuesday night. They host Kent State.
