Logan Cooley Signs 8-Year Contract with Utah Mammoth
Logan Cooley signed an 8-year contract with the Utah Mammoth on Wednesday worth $80 million. It averages $10 million per year and is set to begin next season. The 21-year-old has 8 goals, 12 points in 11 games this season.
Utah Mammoth Ink Cooley To Long-Term Contract
The Arizona Coyotes selected Logan Cooley with the No. 3 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Cooley has 121 points (53 goals, 68 assists) in 121 regular-season games. He had NHL career highs in goals (25), assists (40), and points (65) in 75 games with Utah last season.
General Manager Bill Armstrong said, “What makes him unique is his drive and character, his ability to improve. (He) has a huge hunger to win, and he’s an impressive young man. Every day, he’s relentlessly working on his game. So, he’s a remarkable young man.”
Cooley mentioned that he is excited to be with the Mammoth for a long time, and the ultimate goal is to win the Stanley Cup. That is all NHL players’ dream and why they play the game.
However, it is too early to tell the pace of Cooley’s scoring rate, but Cooley is on pace to score 59 goals and 89 points over 82 games this season. In his 168 career NHL games, the Pittsburgh native has 53 goals and 68 assists for 121 points.
The Utah Mammoth
The Utah Mammoth are currently in first place in the West’s Central Division. The Mammoth are 8-3-0 with 16 points. The Mammoth will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 2. This is Utah’s second season in the NHL. They are the NHL’s newest team.
