Boston Bruins Beat the New York Islanders 5-2
The Bruins are struggling and presented an opportunity for the Islanders. Last night, the Boston Bruins were killed by the Ottawa Senators 7-2. The Islanders needed this game as they have two difficult road games upcoming against the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals. Both of these games are on the road.
If the Islanders are going to make the playoffs, they need to win games against weak opponents, like the Bruins, even on the road. This was a poor outing for the Islanders. Do you think the Bruins will right the ship and make the playoffs?
Bruins Beat the Islanders 5-2
In this game against the Boston Bruins, the Islanders started fast. They scored the first two goals of the game. In fact, they scored twice in the first seven minutes. The Islanders needed to win this game as they face the tough Hurricanes and Capitals on the road on Thursday and Friday, on Halloween.
Here is the scoring summary of the 5-2 Islanders loss against the Bruins. In the first period, Bo Horvat scored again for the Islanders. The Islanders led 1-0. This marks the third consecutive game the Islanders have scored the first goal in the game. Then, Kyle Palmieri extended the Islanders’ lead to 2-0 by scoring.

More Injuries
The injury bug remained persistent for the Islanders. Alexander Romanov missed the game with the Bruins. Romanov joined the team for the remaining three road games on this four-game road trip. Romanov did not wear a red non-contact jersey for skate on Tuesday, which is a positive sign as the defenseman takes steps toward returning.
Maxim Shabanov missed his third straight game against the Bruins. Shabanov is a candidate for rookie of the year, so missing time is not good for him. Head Coach Patrick Roy said the winger has not resumed skating on his own and will not travel with the team on this road trip.
A Second Game For Warren Against the Bruins
Marshall Warren played in his second consecutive NHL game tonight. Warren made his National Hockey League debut on Saturday afternoon. He played well as he had two assists and two hits in 11:20. Warren was on a pair with Tony DeAngelo. It is not surprising that Warren got his second start. He played well, and the alternatives are not that exciting.
It was a mini homecoming for Warren. He played four years at Boston College (BC) from 2019-23, where he got 57 points in 130 games, and served as captain in his final season. Warren said, “I’ve got a lot of buddies in Boston, I’m excited. I’m pumped to see some of the coaches and friends I went to school with.” Warren’s father, Lewis Warren, attended, along with his BC Head Coach Jerry York.
