Washington Huskies Offense Has Been Great In 2025
Washington’s offense has been great in 2025. It will be a challenge for Ohio State as the Buckeyes begin their Big Ten conference schedule. Washington Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. was compared to Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals by Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day.
Wide Receiver Junior Denzel Boston may be as good as Ohio State Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith. Running Back Jonah Coleman is experienced and is one of the best running backs in the nation. The Washington Huskies are ranked in the top ten of college football on offense in multiple categories. How many points do you think Ohio State will give up in this game?
Washington Huskies Offense
Washington is highly ranked in the nation after three games. As such, they will provide the vaunted Ohio State defense with its toughest test to date. Washington ranks 10th in the nation in yards per game after three games. They rank second in the nation in points per game at over 55 per game. The Huskies’ offense ranks so high because they have played some bad teams, and they are led by a dangerous three-headed monster on offense.
Huskie Three-Headed Offensive Monster
The Washington Huskies are led by three dangerous players on offense who will challenge the Buckeyes. First is Williams Jr. He is a dual-threat quarterback whom Head Coach Jedd Fisch is expecting to take a big step forward in 2025. The early returns are such that he is.
In his second career start, in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, Williams Jr. completed 81% of his passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns. This season, the quarterback has been nearly perfect. His average quarterback rating of 93.6 ranks second nationally behind only USC’s Jayden Maiava’s 94.3. He also ranks fourth in passing yards per attempt (11.4) and seventh in completion percentage (73.5%).
The second dangerous player for the Huskies is Boston. Boston’s first touchdown of the season, a 29-yarder, came on Washington’s first drive via a perfectly placed back shoulder fade, which the receiver pulled down in the front corner of the endzone.
Boston scored again in the fourth quarter, leaping above Washington State Cornerback Kenny Worthy III to come down with a seven-yard touchdown. “We [understood] that [the Washington State Cougars] were gonna do some things to try to take Denzel away, but Denzel’s a really good player,” Fisch said. “He was able to adjust to some of the coverage schemes and make some plays.”
Coleman is one of the best running backs in the nation. Although the Cougars contained Coleman (12 carries, 59 yards) to some extent, the senior running back was still able to punch in two rushing scores. Coleman’s been a true gamebreaker for the Huskies so far. Coleman leads the nation with nine rushing touchdowns. He’s got a gap behind him, too. Only three other rushers have managed even seven touchdowns.
Conclusion
The Washington Hukies offense is dangerous this season. It will present a big challenge for Ohio State as the Buckeyes start their conference schedule. Washington will use its three-headed monster on offense to score points on the Buckeyes, who are in a tie for allowing the fewest points in the nation (They are tied with BYU). Strength meets strength in this game.
On the other side of the ball, it is reasonable to expect that with Ohio State’s talent on offense and a weakish Washington defense, the Buckeyes will be able to score points in this game. Expect this one to be high scoring.
