Veteran Linebacker Jordan Hicks announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday morning. He had a solid 2024 campaign as a member of the Cleveland Browns. He had 78 tackles and 2 sacks. He was expected to contribute to the Browns again this season. His sudden retirement leaves a gaping hole in Cleveland’s defense. How will the career of Hicks be remembered?
Jordan Hicks Career Summary
Hicks was drafted in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent the first four years of his career in Philadelphia. His career then took him to the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and Cleveland Browns. His crowning achievement was being on the Eagles team that won Super Bowl LII. Even though he was sidelined in the second half of the regular season, he walked away with a championship ring. He ended his career with 951 tackles, 16.5 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles.

Hicks had a great NFL career. Even though his retirement seemingly came out of nowhere, it should not take away from the player he was.
