Detroit Tigers Third Baseman Zach McKinstry Named To 2025 MLB All-Star Game Roster
Detroit Tigers Third Baseman Zach McKinstry has been named an injury replacement for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game. He is set to replace Houston Astros Shortstop Jeremy Pena on the American League’s active roster. Pena has been out since June 28 with a rib injury. That will not allow him to participate in the “Midsummer Classic.”
McKinstry is a deserving MLB All-Star. He is having a strong season for a Detroit Tigers team with the best record in Major League Baseball. He is hitting .283 with 7 home runs and 27 RBI. How will he play on the biggest stage of his career?

McKinstry made his MLB debut in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He spent parts of three seasons in LA before playing the final half of the 2022 season with the Chicago Cubs. He has spent the last three seasons with the Detroit Tigers. This has been the best season of his career by a wide margin.
Final Thoughts
McKinstry will look to keep playing well and showcase his skillset in next week’s MLB All-Star Game. This has been a breakout season for the third baseman. As long as he can maintain his production, it will be a successful season for the Detroit Tigers.
