Rasheer Fleming Drafted No. 31 Overall By Minnesota Timberwolves In 2025 NBA Draft
Forward Rasheer Fleming was drafted No. 31 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2025 NBA Draft. He will end up with the Phoenix Suns as they acquired this pick from the Wolves earlier today. He played all three seasons of his collegiate career at Saint Joseph’s. He was named All-Atlantic 10 this past season. How will he fit with the new-look Phoenix Suns?
Fleming’s Fit With Phoenix
Fleming joins a Suns team that has undergone a massive makeover in recent weeks. They traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets in a blockbuster move on Sunday. Phoenix has a glut of players at the center/forward position. The rookie will have to contend with that to see the floor this season.
Phoenix drafted Duke Center Khaman Maluach No. 10 overall pick and acquired Center Mark Williams in a trade last night. Fleming will play alongside Devin Booker, Jalen Green, and Bradley Beal on a Phoenix Suns team seemingly lacking direction.
Final Thoughts
Fleming enters the NBA as a bit of a project. He played in an inferior conference in college. That will make the learning curve steep for him. He also will have to deal with a plethora of players at his position. He is also not viewed as a player who sees the floor well and struggles to make decisions quickly when on the court. He will look to contribute to Phoenix in the future.
