Charlotte Hornets Select Duke’s Kon Knueppel at No. 4 in 2025 NBA Draft
It seems Duke star wing Kon Knueppel will be staying a little bit longer in the state of North Carolina, as the Charlotte Hornets have selected the highly touted Blue Devil freshman with the 4th pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Knueppel put together a solid season during his lone season in a Blue Devil uniform. Averaging over 14 points on a scorching 41% from the three-point line, standing out as the second-best player for Duke behind Cooper Flagg.
Kon Knueppel’s Skillset & Fit with the Hornets
Touted as the best shooter in this year’s draft class, Knueppel’s sharpshooting abilities are one of the reasons the Duke product saw a steady rise across multiple mock drafts in recent weeks. That shooting ability is something the Hornets are desperate for, as Charlotte ranked 28th in three-point percentage and makes in the NBA last season. Knueppel’s agility and size also allow the Hornets the ability to plug Knueppel into a multitude of lineups without running into any positional disadvantages.
Final Thoughts
The pairing of Charlotte star guard Lamelo Ball and Kon Knueppel could be a match made in heaven for the Hornets, as Knueppel’s sharpshooting and shot creation ability can space the floor for Ball to better operate from. The drafting of Knueppel could mean the Hornets are finally on the rise in the Eastern conference.
