Los Angeles Angels Second Baseman Christian Moore With Tremendous Game
Los Angeles Angels Second Baseman Christian Moore had a great game last night at home against the Boston Red Sox. He hit a game-tying home run in the bottom of the 8th inning. He then hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to clinch the victory for the Angels. He hit a game-tying home run, a walk off run with his team trailing, and drove in all of his team’s runs last night. Moore is the first player in league history to accomplish these things all in the same game.
He also became the second player in at least the expansion era (since 1961) with multiple game-tying or go-ahead homers in the 8th inning or later of a single game within his first 12 career games. He joined Kyle Schwarber who did so on July 21, 2015.
Moore is no stranger to an exciting home run. He hit a game-tying home run in the 7th inning against the Houston Astros on June 20. He is the second player in franchise history to have a game-tying or go-ahead home run in 7th inning or later for each of his first two career homers. Will the young player continue his late-inning heroics?

Moore entered Major League Baseball with great fanfare. He was a crucial part of the Tennessee Volunteers winning the College World Series in 2024. He was drafted No. 8 overall in the 2024 MLB Draft. Moore was the top prospect in the team’s farm system entering the year and the No. 53 prospect in the sport. He began the season in AA before being moved up to AAA. He then debuted with the Angels on June 13.
Final Thoughts
Moore and the Angels return to the diamond this afternoon for the final game of their three-game set against the Boston Red Sox. If the young player can continue swinging the bat this well, Los Angeles can be in the playoff race late into the summer.
