Boston Red Sox Left Fielder Jarren Duran With Tremendous Game Against New York Mets
Boston Red Sox Left Fielder Jarren Duran had a strong game Monday night at home against the New York Mets. He came out of the gates firing on all cylinders. He doubled in his first at-bat and added an RBI triple in his second plate appearance of the evening. Both of his hits came off Mets Starting Pitcher Kodai Senga. Boston prevailed 3-1 to take the opening game of the series.
Duran finished the game 2-of-4 with an RBI and a run scored. He is hitting .268 this season with 3 home runs and 28 RBI. He is also leading the league in triples. Will he be able to get on track for a middling Boston Red Sox squad?
Boston Red Sox Season Summary
It has been a disappointing season thus far for the Red Sox. They are in second place in the American League East with a 24-25 record. Boston’s offense has been strong. They are ninth in batting average, seventh in home runs, and sixth in runs scored. Third Baseman Alex Bregman has led the team on offense. He is top 20 in the league in home runs and RBI. Designated Hitter Rafael Devers is also fourth in the league in RBI.
The issue for the Boston Red Sox in 2025 has been their pitching staff. They are 18th in ERA, 21st in WHIP, and 23rd in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Garrett Crochet has been strong, but the rest of the pitching staff has not held up their end of the bargain. He is seventh in ERA and third in strikeouts.
Final Thoughts
Duran and the Boston Red Sox will look to keep it going tomorrow evening when they face the New York Mets in the middle game of their three-game set. The Red Sox have a talented roster, but have yet to reach their top gear in 2025.
