Seattle Storm Lose Two Players For 2025 Season To Torn ACLs
The Seattle Storm are looking to bounce back to the perennial power they are in the WNBA, but they will have to do it without the services of Nika Muhl and Jordan Horston. Both Muhl and Horston had ACL tears in the offseason, which will sideline them for the 2025 season as the Storm looks to replace them. Both were expected to have a bigger role in 2025, especially Horston, as the Storm traded away Jewell Loyd. Here’s a detailed look at each player’s 2024 season to explain what is missing.Â
Jordan Horston’s 2024 productionÂ
Horston averaged 6.8 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, and 1.3 steals for the Storm in 2024. She played 22.3 minutes per game during the regular season. It was expected that Horston was probably going to be a starter after being the Storm’s top reserve in 2024. This could hamper the depth of the Storm’s wing position going into 2025.Â
Nika Muhl’s 2024 ProductionÂ
Muhl had limited minutes in 16 games played last season for the Storm as a rookie from the legendary program in the UConn Huskies. Muhl struggled in her limited action last season and was poised for improvements in 2025, but suffered an ACL injury in October with her club in Turkey, Besiktas. Muhl has the potential to be a good point guard in the WNBA, but so far, injuries have derailed her. It will be important to see how she will recover from this injury.Â
Final Thoughts
The Storm will now have 16 players on their training camp roster. It starts on April 27. Look for more to be put on the 2025 2nd overall pick, Dominique Molanga’s shoulders, when she does join the team after the French playoffs. Also, look for Skylar Diggins-Smith to have even more of a load on her minutes-wise at the point guard spot without the services of Muhl.
