Aaron Judge Historical with 4th Homer as Yanks Sweep Brewers

Aaron Judge led the home run barrage for the New York Yankees today as they swept the Milwaukee Brewers. The Yankees won the game 12-3. Aaron Judge hit another home run, and so did Ben Rice. Jazz Chisolm Jr. hit two. Aaron Judge became the first Major League Baseball player to hit 4 home runs in his first three games. After two games, the Yankees 15 home runs is the second most in history. The Yankees chased Milwaukee starter Aaron Civale after just 3 innings. For the season’s third game, the Brewers batted first again at Yankee Stadium. They had Brice Turang batting first and played left field. Jackson Chourio batted second and played second base. Christian Yelich was again the designated hitter batting third, though Vinny Capra batted for him in the eighth. William Contreras did the catching and batted fourth. Sal Frelick was playing right field and batting fifth. Jake Bauers was the first baseman, batting six. Garrett Mitchell was playing centerfield and batted seventh. Aaron Judge hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat in the bottom of the first inning to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead. They never trailed, and Aaron Judge intentionally walked in his next at-bat, and he walked in his next two at-bats again.

Ben Rice then crushed a pitch in the second inning. That gave the Yankees a 3-1 lead. Jazz Chisolm then lined a two-run home run in the third inning, giving the Yankees a 5-1 lead. That was his second home run of the year. In the top of the fourth inning, Jake Bauers hit a two-run home run for the New York Yankees, cutting the Yankees lead to 5-3.

Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisolm Jr. scored on wild pitches in the bottom of the sixth inning, giving the Yankees a 7-3 lead. In the seventh inning, Paul Goldschmidt had an RBI single to extend the Yankee lead to 8-3. Cody Bellinger hit a sacrifice fly to make the Yankees lead 9-3. Then Jazz Chisolm Jr. hit a three-run home run, which extended the Yankee lead to 12-3.

This was the second game in a row where the starting pitcher for the New York Yankees exited after four and two-thirds innings, one out shy of what is required for a win. Marcus Stroman threw a lot of first-pitch strikes but then nibbled and was removed for lefthanded pitcher Tim Hill in the fifth inning. Aaron Judge became the first player in Major League Baseball history to hit 4 home runs in the season’s first two games.

Ben Rice hit a home run for the Yankees, as did Jazz Chisolm Jr., twice. That gave the Yankees 14 Home Runs in their first three games, the second most all-time. Briefly, Aaron Judge may be the best hitter ever in baseball. He walked three times today, which will happen a lot this year. So far, he has 4 home runs and a double. The Yankees are off to a great start to the 2025 season. A team cannot do better than winning its first three games. Nevertheless, there are some worrying signs.
